Margaret Crawford, 99, of Longmont, died October 26, 2011 at Applewood Living Center. Margaret was born November 8, 1911 in Norka, Russia to John H. and Christina (Urbach) Giebelhaus. The family immigrated to the United States in 1913.

She graduated from Berthoud High School in 1931. After graduating she was employed as a housekeeper in the Longmont and Denver areas. She was later employed by Kuner-Empson retiring in 1971.

On June 22, 1942 she married William J. Crawford in Longmont where they made their home.

She was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church where she was an active participant in the choir and their sewing guild. She also was a member of the Quilters at the Senior Center. As a gardener and cook her skill was legendary; her rose gardens a work of art.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, three sisters, Anna Betz, Marie Clements, and Pauline Steving. Four brothers, Henry, George, John, and Albert Giebelhaus.

She is survived by her sons, William ( Joada) Crawford of Denver, and John (Carolyn) Crawford of Arvada, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, October 31, 2011, at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dr. David Barker officiating. Internment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont.
