Word came of the death of Francis "Dutch" Martin, about 54, for years an oil man in Venezuela, and a son of Mrs. John T, Martin of Douglass and the late John T. Martin. He passed away at a hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana on Monday after a continued illness and operation for tumor of the brain.
He was born at the Martin place July 31, 1896. He passed away December 15, 1952 in New Orleans, Louisiana and brought to Douglass for burial by his wife Adela (Hidalgo) Martin and sons Carlo and John. Also surviving are daughter Nancy who is married and living in Venezuela.; his mother Mrs. John T. Martin of Douglass and four brothers, Harry Martin, district court clerk of El Dorado; Walter Martin and Charles Martin , Douglass; and Virgil Martin of Santa Rosa, California.
Funeral services were held Saturday 2 p.m. December 20, 1952 at the Hilyard Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Karl Magnusson.
Francis was a veteran of World War I.
