Charles, long-time active in civic life in Lake Geneva, died at in Lakeland hospital. A Lake Geneva resident for 68 years, he came to America at the age of 1 year. Hemarried Selma on December 17, 1910 in Lake geneva. Charles served as president of the city council for six years. He was alderman from the Second ward for eight years and served two terms as alderman of the Third ward. He ran unsuccessfully for Mayor in 1942 and 1948.
