He was born on Aug. 1, 1905 in Melle, Germany. He married Frieda Fahlbusch on August 21, 1930, and she preceded him in death on April 24, 1964. He later married Cora Puls on Feb. 18, 1968 and she survives.
He is survived by one son, Frederick (wife, Jo) Lakamp of Chapin; one daughter, Shirley Dufelmeier of Jacksonville; four granchildren; two great grandchildren and two half brothers, Gustaf and Henry Lakamp, both of Germany. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Mr Lakamp was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Trinity Luthern Mens' Club and the Scott County Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Neeleyville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a m on Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Neeleyville with burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The remians will be taken to the church one hour prior to services. Friends may call after 11 a m on Thursday with family meeting friends 7-8:30 p. m. at the Williamson Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
