Born in Rockingham co. Va. Served in closing scenes of Revolution, being present at surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown, Va. Came to ohio in 1802, wife was Mary Sybilla Miller.
Sons Jacob, Philip, and two daughters were still living in 1877, according to "A Complete History of Fairfield County, Ohio", published in 1877.
