Martha Jane Ross Strauss, age 70 of Grants Pass, Oregon, formerly of Edina, Missouri passed away Friday morning (April 26, 1991) at her residence in Grants Pass, Oregon. Burial will be in the St Aloysius Cemetery at Baring, Missouri.
The daughter of George L and Nora Margaret O'Donnell Ross she was born January 26, 1921 in Kansas City, Missouri.
In October of 1949 she married Alfred Strauss and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are one sister Mrs. Ann Kimble of Baring, Missouri; two nephews, Dr. Bert Kimble of Odessa, Missouri and Mike Kimble of Belton, Missouri, two nieces Mary Ann Clarke of Baring Missouri and Susan Kimble of Warrensburg, Missouri; three great-nieces and one great-nephew and several cousins.
Mrs. Strauss attended schools in Kansas City and Kirksville where she graduated from High School. She also attended college in River Forrest, Illinois and Iowa City, Iowa. Mrs. Strauss was employed as an announcer for WTAD Radio in Quincy, Illinois and later a case worker for the Missouri Department of Family Services located in Edina, Missouri during the 1940's. During WWII she moved to California until August of 1989 when she moved to her present home in Grants Pass, Oregon. Mrs. Strauss was a member of the St Joseph Catholic Church of Edina, Missouri.

Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 1991, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Edina. The Christian Wake Service was held Monday evening, April 29, 1991, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina. The Celebrant was Father Clarence Wiederhold of the church. Organist was Nancy Reardon. Burial was in the St. Aloysius Cemetery at Baring.
