Florence E. Maass, age 94, Seymour, died peacefully Friday morning, June 25, 2004, at Woodhaven Manor, Pulaski. The daughter of the late James and Catherine (Brandow) Samson was born September 9, 1909, in Appleton.

On December 24, 1930, she was united in marriage to Alfred Maass in Waukegan, Illinois. He preceded her in death September 2, 1990. Florence farmed with her husband until their retirement. She was also employed as a seamstress for many years.

Florence was a wonderfully devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved and enjoyed her family and friends.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dallas and Patricia Maass, Seymour; eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Hoffmann, Green Bay; and one brother, Hugh Samson, Seymour. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; one son, Merle James, in 1945; one daughter-in-law, Barbara; four brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 South Main Street, Seymour, on Tuesday, June 29, 2004, after 10 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral Service 12 noon at the funeral home with the Reverend Eugene Gauerke officiating. The burial will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
