Obituary: Died Near Stuttgart
Fredrick Grote, a German living three miles northeast of Stuttgart, died last Tuesday night of rheumatism of the heart was buried on Thursday. Mr. Grote was born in Wurtemburg, Germany, April 1848. He came to Phillips county about four years ago from Marysville, Kansas and purchased several farms near Stuttgart and has resided there ever since, only at occasional times working at his trade, that of stone mason. Mr. Grote was one of our well-to-do citizens county and during his short stay in this county has made innumerable friends who join with the Herald in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
