Richard was born on April 16, 1954 in Seneca, to Aloysius Henry and Helene Kohake Dalinghaus. He graduated from B & B High School in Baileyville in 1972.
On November 15, 1980, he married Janet Koehler at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.
He was a farmer and stockman who enjoyed team penning and sorting cattle and calves. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and going to sporting events.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janet of the home; sons, Brian Dalinghaus of Menifee, CA, Tim Dalinghaus of Shawnee, KS and Brad Dalinghaus of Manhattan, KS; daughters, Laura Bremerman of Spring Hill, KS and Cheryl Dalinghaus of Manhattan; his mother Helene Dalinghaus of Seneca; siblings, Rita Gahagan of Benton, KS, Larry Dalinghaus of Topeka, Eugene Dalinghaus of Baileyville, and Joan Wadley of Topeka; and 6 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Aloysius on July 6, 1960.
Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM on Wednesday, November 17, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 AM Thursday, November 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
