Carolina Wilhelmine Berghorn was born 3 October 1829 in Minden (a town located in the north-east of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany) to Johann Hermann Berghorn & Wilhelmine Stammelbach. Her family immigrated to the United States in 1847 & settled in Saint Louis, MO.

Caroline married William August "Henry" Saeger 27 June 1850 in St. Louis. They had seven children, all born in St. Louis.

Anna Emilie (1865-1931, married Carl H Lengtat)
A child with the first initial "C" (1870-1872)

Her husband, Henry, is listed in Kennedy's 1860 St. Louis Directory as follows: "Henry Saeger, teacher, r. 221 Carr".
And, in the 1890 St. Louis City Directory: "Henry A. W. Saeger, Location 2: r. 1316 Benton".

Henry died 13 December 1891 & Caroline lived at their Benton Way address with her daughter, Caroline, until she passed away 25 February 1914.
