Edna M. Swoboda,71,of 912 Pearl St.,Chip- pewa Falls,died Tuesday,November 16,2010 at Sacred Heart Hospital,Eau Claire.
She was born June 11,1939 in Jim Falls,the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Brick) Atkinson.
On September 26,1959,she married Bernard M. Swoboda at Sacred Heart Church in Jim Falls.
She had worked at St. Joseph's Hospital for many years.
She was a member of Notre Dame Church,the Secular Franciscans,the P.C.C.W. of Notre Dame and a foster grandparent and mentor to many kids.
Edna is survived by: four sons,Anthony (Deb- bie) Swoboda and Scott (Celeste) Swoboda both of Chippewa Falls,Curt (Debbie) Swoboda of Eau Claire and Nic (Jennifer) Swoboda of Chippewa Falls; one daughter,Annette Swobo- da of Chippewa Falls; three brothers,Frank (Jan) Atkinson of Cadott,Dick (Pam) Atkinson of Jim Falls and Edward Atkinson,Jr. of Eau Claire; two sisters,Eloda Birch of Kenosha and Sharon Bergeron of Chippewa Falls; 13 grand- children and 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Bernard M. Swoboda; one son,Michael; and her parents.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She will be sadly missed by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Satur- day,November 20,2010 at Notre Dame Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Brian J. Jazdzewski will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery,Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday,Nov- ember 19,and until 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Horan Funeral Home,Chippewa Falls. The Ladies of Notre Dame in conjunction with the Secular Franciscans will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. and there will be a Christian Vigil Service at 7 p.m. both on Friday at the funeral home.
