Mrs. Emma Thomas Jones died Monday after a lingering illnesses of heart trouble. Mrs. Jones was one of our beloved old timers and her passing away will be mourned by all who knew her. Deceased was born at Camp Floyd, Utah on April 22 1868 to John Gerd Mohlman and Ann Carolina Galli. The family moved to Midway, Utah where Mrs. Jones lived until 15 years of age, at which time they moved to Park City and Mrs. Jones made her home here since then. In 1891 she married John Alfred Thomas who died August 19, 1933. In 1936 she was married to David A. Jones.
Those who survive are three sons Fay of Salt Lake City, Rex of Sacramento, California, Charles of this city and one daughter; two brothers, Ephraim of Salt Lake City and O. H. Mohlman of Ogden, Utah; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services are being held this afternoon from the LDS First ward chapel, Bishop Glen Sabey in charge. Burial will be in the City Cemetery.

Grandmother Thomas was born in Camp Floyd or Cedar Fort Utah and raised in Midway Utah. She was the eldest daughter of John Gerd Mohlman and Anna Carolina Galli Mohlman, who were German and Swiss immigrants. Her father John Gerd Mohlman came to Utah as a member of Johnsons Army. He was the bugler and his trade was listed as a bootmaker. Many Swiss and German people settled in Midway Utah in the late 1800's. John married Anna Caroline Galli, and after his enlistment in the army expired he settled in Midway and converted to the LDS faith. The Mohlman family history provides an interesting perspective of the connection between the History of Utah and the Mohlman family heritage. Each year Midway celebrates Swiss Days. Grandmother Thomas was first married to William Daniels, who was killed in a railroad accident. They had a son named Ernest Daniels, who was raised by her youngest sister Alice Mohlman Dudler in Midway. Grandmother Thomas then married John Alfred Thomas. They tried farming in Idaho for a time, but eventually moved back to Park City, raised a family and became long time residents.
