Christian Geis' parents were Johann Geis of Villmar, Germany and Catherine Winkler also of Villmar, Germany. Johann came to Texas in 1846 and settled in Pin Oak, Texas. Catherine joined him a few years later.
Johann & Catherine are both buried at Pin Oak in Bastrop County. They are supposed to be buried at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery at Pin Oak but there is no headstone. Catherine's maiden name was Winkler. She was first married to Michael Brahm in Villmar but after Michael's death she married Johann Geis. I have researched the Brahm family because I am descendant of Henry Brahm, son of Michael Brahm & Catherine Winkler. Henry also settled in Pin Oak, Texas.
