Donald J. Drees, 70, of Manchester, IA died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, in his home after a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manchester, by the Rev. Ralph Simington. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Manchester. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, where a Scripture service will be held at 6 p.m. Friends may also call after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Leveda; seven children, Julene (Jim) Smith of Manchester, Dale (Roxanna) Drees of Manchester, Duane Drees (special friend Roger Lake) of Edgewood, Shirley (Joseph) Cole of Manchester, Sharon (Russell) Boeckenstedt of Manchester, David Drees of Chicago and Dean Drees of Plano, Texas; 15 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Germaine Weigel of Earlville and Alice (Minor) Baty of Coggon.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Reynold and John Drees; and six sisters, Dorothy McGrane, Marcella Wolfe, Viola Loecke, Martha Ruby, Marian Stelken and Sister Wilma Drees.
