Mrs. Castro was born Oct. 5, 1940, in Cortazar Gto. Mexico, and was a daughter of the late Ricardo Quintana and Francisca Almanza.
She moved to Harrisonburg in 1996 from Jacksonville, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Iglesia Nueva Vida Church.
She is survived by her husband, Cruz Castro of Harrisonburg; four sons, the Rev. Abel Castro and Salvadro Castro, both of Harrisonburg, and Cruz Castro and Fernando Castro, both of Jacksonville, Texas; four daughters, Teresa Santamaria of Jacksonville, Texas, and Juana Santamaria, Veronica Luna and Yolanda Romero, all of Harrisonburg; three sisters in Mexico; 36 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The Revs. Jeremias Cruz and Reyes Mendez will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Sunday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Harrisonburg.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
