Charles F. Rapp, 73, of Marble, passed away Friday, Sept. 25, 2009.
Born April 17, 1936, he was the son of Leanus and Irene Hartle Rapp.
He was a member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was also a member of the Fryburg Sportsman's Club, the Clarion Moose and the Clarion Legion.
Mr. Rapp worked for many years as a faller in the timber industry and worked for many are lumber companies, retiring from Miller Logging. He lived on the family homestead all of his life and continued the family farming tradition.
He was married on Sept. 2, 1961, to the former Elizabeth "Betty " Lander, who survives.
Survivors also include a daughter, Jane Aaron of Shippenville; two sons, William Rapp and his wife, Trudy, of Shippenville, and Charles L. Rapp and his wife, Barb, of Marble. Also surviving are six grandchildren Maggie Aaron, Eric Rapp, Casey Rapp, Kevin Rapp, Brandi Rapp, and Charli Rapp; and 11 siblings, George Rapp, Harold Rapp, Dave Rapp, Robert Rapp, Richard Rapp, Frank Rapp, Paul Rapp, Ethel Sharp, Katherine Larrow, Anna Snyder and Barb Buzard.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rapp was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Rapp; a grandson, Alex Aaron; two brothers, Albert Rapp and Gerald Rapp; and a sister, Dorothy Caltagarone.
Mass of a Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Church in Fryburg with the Rev. David Poulson, pastor, presiding.
Interment was in the St. Michael Cemetery
