OBITUARY: PAUL BEYERLEIN

John Friedrick Paulus Beyerlein, son of Paul and Maria Preuss Beyerlein, was born December 9, 1896 on a farm northwest of Phillipsburg and died July 9, 1991 in the Phillips County Hospital, Phillipsburg, at the age of 94.

He was baptized January 1, 1897 and confirmed April 10, 1910 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Stuttgart, where he was a lifelong member. He was also married in that church to Martha Bach on June 9, 1920; to this union, two children were born.

Paul was a veteran of World War I and was a Phillips County farmer for many years until his retirement. He liked to travel and tell people about his experiences.

Survivors include one son, Paul R. Beyerlein and wife Vera of rural Phillipsburg; one daughter, Erna Beyerlein of Agra; two sisters-in-law, Alma Beyerlein of Phillipsburg and Erna Laizure of Stamford, Nebraska; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Paul will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

The Reverend Arnold G. Raabe officiated the funeral service in memory of Paul J. Beyerlein Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m. in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Stuttgart. Organist Phyllis Merklein accompanied the congregation as they sang "Rock of Ages" and "How Great Thou Art", Erwin Back, Lee Taylor, Vernon Roeder, Steve Holzwarth, Loren Grau, Edwin Dusin and Louis and Daniel Beyerlein served as casket bearers.

Interment was in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Stuttgart under the direction of Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel.
