Wilbur E. Stewart, 64 of Independence, passed away November 29, 2010.

Wilbur was born July 23, 1946 in Clinton Missouri to Carl and Waneta Stewart. Wilbur loved sports, especially fishing, horseshoes and shooting pool. He was a merchandiser for several years, most recently with Central States Beverage. Wilbur was also a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.

He is preceded into heaven by his parents and 1 brother.

He leaves behind his Wife, Anita of the home. 2 Children; Marcus Stewart and Jennifer Ennen both of Independence, Mo. 1 Brother; Charles Stewart and his wife Judy of Branson, Mo. 1 Sister; Carla Green and her husband Steven of Yates Center, Ks. Sister in Law: Judi Plecker and her husband Mike of Sugar Creek, Mo. and 1 Grandson; Nick Ennen of independence. Mo.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Messiah Lutheran Church, Independence. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, Thursday at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Messiah Lutheran Church, 613 South Main, Independence, Mo. 64050.

Wilbur "Willie" E. Stewart

Willie was born July 23, 1946, at Clinton, MO, the son of Carl and Waneta (Sanders) Stewart. He was baptized in 1959 at Joplin, Missouri and confirmed on December 30, 1984 at Messiah Lutheran, Independence, MO.

Willie was married on June 1, 1968 to Anita Murray at Messiah by the Rev. W.W. Warmann. This union was blessed with two children, Jennifer and Marcus.

Willie served faithfully for many years as an usher at Messiah. His friendly smile welcomed many of Messiah's members on Sunday mornings. He loved sports, especially fishing, horseshoes, and shooting pool. He was a merchandiser for several years, most recently with Central States Beverage.

He was called to his eternal home on November 29, 2010, at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 6 days. He was welcomed by his Savior and relieved of all suffering after a lengthy illness.

He leaves his wife, Anita Stewart, daughter, Jennifer Ennen, son Marcus Stewart and a grandson, Nicholas Ennen, one brother, Charles Stewart and his wife, Judy of Branson, MO; one sister, Carla Green and husband Steven of Yates Center, KS; sister-in-law, Judy Plecker and her husband, Mike of Sugar Creek, MO.

Willie was laid to rest at Mound Grove Cemetery, there to await the glorious resurrection.
