A. Finneman, 79 Retired Farmer Dies Yesterday

Has Lived here Since 1910; Farmed at Luxemberg and Maine Prairie

Anton Finneman who came from Germany and located on a farm in Luxemberg, Stearns County in 1869, died Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 after a lingering illness of cancer. He was 79 years of age.

The remains have been taken to the Finnemann residence, 801 Eleventh Ave N, where they will be held until the time of the funeral, which takes place at the Cathedral at 10:00 Saturday morning with burial following in the family lot of Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Finneman was a member of the Holy Name society of the Cathedral.

The former Luxemberg Township resident was born in Stadtkyll, Rheinland, Prussia, Germany, in 1848 (Birth information obtained from "Germany Births and Baptisms 1558-1898" found on Family Search, indexed from FHL microfilm 556083.) He emigrated to America in 1869, locating on a farm near Luxemberg where on Dec 30, 1875 he was married to Josephine Gully of St. Martin. After his marriage, Mr. Finnemann removed to Maine Prairie Township, where the family lived on a farm near Pearl Lake until 1910, when Mr. Finnemann retired and took up his residence in St. Cloud, living since then in the home on Eleventh Ave N. Mrs. Finnemann died in June 1923.

Leaves Seven Children
of the 11 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Finneman, seven survived to adulthood. They are: John B. Finnemann, Fairview, MT; Hubert and Mike A. Finneman, Golva, ND; Thomas Finneman, Vem, ND; Mrs. Theodore Bohlsen and Miss Elizabeth Finneman, St. Cloud; and Mrs. Irwin Good, Minneapolis. There also is one sister, Mrs. Mike Bauer, Kenmore, ND and 27 grandchildren. All the children and his sister were with Mr. Finneman at death.
