Linda F. Liss, 57, of La Salle, died Friday, July 22, at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mueller Funeral Home in Peru, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s church in Peru with the Rev. Henry Fitz officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Spring Valley.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with a rosary at 5 p.m.
Mrs. Liss was born July 3, 1948 in La Salle to Anthony and Virginia “Jean” (Kinczewski) Mertel. She married Joseph Liss on Oct. 11, 1974, at St. Joseph’s Church in Peru.
She was a 1966 graduate of La Salle-Peru High School and she attended the Sherwood Music Conservatory in Chicago.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and was formerly the church organist.
She is survived by her husband; her parents, of Peru; a brother, Terry (Rita) Mertel of Peru; two sisters, Peggy (William) Plantan of Peru and Susan (James) Happ of Peru; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Memorial may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
