Herald Coaster, August 29, 1963:

Jean Elaine Mahlmann, 4 years and 11 months old, died Saturday morning in Texas Children's Hospital. She had been ill with leukemia for the past four months. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Mahlmann of Richmond.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville with Rev. Donald Kolkmeier officiating.

Jean is survived by her parents; a brother, Bruce Lee Mahlmann; a sister, Pamela Faye Mahlmann; her grandmothers, Mrs. Ella Kraft Braeuer of Needville and Mrs. E.H. Mahlmann of Richmond; and several aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers were Joe Clyde Wessendorff, A.L. Stern, Louis Ludwig, J.E. Junker, Herbert Richter, Mike McGuire, and Ed Hudgins Jr.

Burial was in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Garmany and Co. Funeral Directors.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Research Hematology Fund, c/o Texas Children's Hospital.
