Herald Coaster, March 31, 1960:

Funeral services were held for Ernest H. Mahlmann, 73, of Richmond, a prominent Fort Bend County farmer, on Sunday at the Needville E&R Church.

Mr. Mahlmann came to Fort Bend County in 1911 from Williamson County.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elda Mahlmann of Richmond; four sons, John of Damon, Walter of Houston, Arthur of Rosenberg, and Max of Richmond; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert Schultz of Seattle, Wash. and Mrs. Henry Hackstedt of Rosenberg; 14 grandchildren; four brothers, William of Rosenberg, George of Welcome, Herman of Welcome, and Mennie of Brenham; seven sisters, Mrs. Otto Thielemann of Richmond, Mrs. Louis Rosenbaum of Rosenberg, Mrs. Robert Weiss of Brenham, Mrs. Emil Dockal of Richmond, Mrs. Charlie Tiemann of Brenham, Mrs. Willie Tieman of Rosenberg, and Miss Alice Mahlmann of Temple.

Burial was at the Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Edwin Weltze officiating.

Pallbearers were Norris Mahlmann, Dennis Mahlmann, Arthur Weiss, William Rosenbaum, Robert Thielemann, Cecil Peschel.
