Son of Johann Friedrich Dasenbrock (b. 14 Apr 1791 in Rüssen, Diepholz, Niedersachsen, Germany and d. 05 Oct 1860 in Döhlen, Oldenburg, Niedersachsen, Germany) and Anna Margareta Teebken (b. Jul 1786 in Westerburg, Oldenburg, Niedersachsen, Germany and d. 17 Jun 1831 in Döhlen, Oldenburg, Niedersachsen, Germany). Half brother to my 2nd. Great Grandfather, Johann Heinrich "John Henry" Dasenbrock. John Henry was born to Johann Friedrich and his second wife, Catharina Margareta Spanhake (b. 08 Mar 1804 in Döhlen, Oldenburg, Niedersachsen, Germany and d. 23 Jun 1869 in Döhlen, Oldenburg, Niedersachsen, Germany).

Both Johann Friedrich and Johann Heinrich emigrated to the United States, Johann Friedrich first, settling in Wisconsin and Johann Heinrich, arriving in New York in 1882, and eventually settling in Nebraska.

Married Catharine Margarete Spanhake (b. 26 Sep 1826 in Döhlen, Oldenburg, Niedersachsen, Germany and d. 13 Feb 1895 in Horicon, Dodge Co., WI) on 07 Oct 1851 in Grosenkneten, Oldenburg, Germany. To this union, six known children were born. All but the last born were natives of Germany.

Catharine Margarete Spanhake is the niece of Catharina Margareta Spanhake. To put it simply, Johann Friedrich married the niece of his step-mother.
