Harold Oliver Pilcher was born on May 8, 1912 in Rowley, Buchanan County, IA, to Jesse Guy Pilcher (1889-1986) and Alice Jane (Smith) Pilcher (1886-1969).
The above obit is probably incorrect in that Pilcher most likely retired from Wien Air Alaska on his 60th birthday, in 1972. In July, 1974, he was known to be working full time for Merric, Inc. of Fairbanks, AK, as a DeHavilland DHC-6 “Twin Otter” Captain. The stated 1977 date of retirement would have been his final retirement, from Merric, Inc.
