Mary Louise Ernstine Rockeman was the daughter of Berthold Albert and his wife, Augusta Albert, and was born Feb. 19, at Everest, Cass Country, N. D. She migrated with her parents to Hector, Minn., where she graduated from the Hector high school and taught school for four years in Renville County, Minn. She was married to August Rockeman Oct 1, 1908, and they came to Ward County in the fall of 1912, and have since resided on their fine farm west of Aurelia.

Four children were born to them--- Merrill, Myra, Howard and Lloyd, of which her first-born, an infant of a few days, preceded her in death.

In all her activities Mrs. Rockeman did excellent if unobtrusive work. She readily won the esteem and affection of all who came in contact with her.
She was an active member of the church, president of the Ladies Aid, and a gifted Sunday school teacher.

Mrs. Rockeman passed away at the age of 51 years, 8 months and one day, on Oct, 20, 1937, at 4:45 in the morning, death being caused by a lingering cancer affliction of the lungs.

Funeral services were conducted at the Moravian church in Aurelia on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 23, with the Rev. R. Kreitlow officiating. Burial was made in the Aurelia Cemetery.

The pall bearers were Herbert, Harold, Walter and Berthold Albert, Harold Nelson and George Torbert. Beautiful floral tributes were received from close relatives and friends, and a gift of money to the old peoples, home Lake Auburn, Minn., in her memory by the donors, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wolf, Bird Island and Hector, Minn., and present at the funeral.

Relatives from a distance present at the funeral were: Earl Lovering and sisters, Mrs. Lundquist and Mrs. Mochelt, Mrs. Clara Newman, Edward Reusswig, Mr. and Mrs. H. Rockeman and daughter from Hector, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Schoen, Oriska, Minn., Herman Scheel Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Scheel, Mr. amd Mrs. Downey, Mr. and Mrs. Smart, Mrs. Elsie Day---all of Coulter, Manitoba; Harold Albert, Detroit, Mich., Walter and Berthold Albert, Klamath Falls, Ore., Herbert Albert, Mrs. Albert, Mrs. Elenor Nelson and daughter Gladys from Ekalaka, Mont. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Torbert of Newburg, N. D., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nelson, Mrs. Esther Johnson and her mother,Mrs. Augusta Albert, from Minot, N. D.

Immediate survivors of Mrs. Rockeman are her husband, her daughter, Myra who teaches in the Greenbush school, Howard, a freshman student at the University of North Dakota, and Lloyd, who stays at home and is a senior in the Donnybrook high school.
