Chester Lee Coombs
(February 25, 1923 - December 14, 2010)

Chester Lee Coombes 87 of Commerce, Oklahoma passed away on December 14, 2010 at his home.

He was born on February 25, 1923 to Wilard D. Coombes and Julia Bell Eagleton of Stillwell, Oklahoma.

He married Lucille Harrison on June 29, 1942.

They were married for 68 ½ years.

Chester served in the United States Navy.

He worked for BF Goodrich for 28 years as a Ban Bury Operator.

He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking with his son.

Chester was the first Cub Scout Master in Commerce, Ok. He loved to camp, play with his grandchildren and sit outside.

Chester and Lucille enjoyed their time traveling together.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 daughter.

Survivors include his wife Lucille of the home, 5 children: Pat Coombes of Ohio, Leon and Kathy Coombes of North Miami, Ok, Mick and Paula Coombes of Miami, Ok, Judy and Jim Rakes of OKC, Theresa Green of Miami, Ok, 25 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday December 21, 2010 at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday evening, December 20, 2010 from 6-7 PM at funeral home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, Miami, Okla.

Burial will be in William Timber Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
