Immanuel F. 'Manny' Kaiser
Immanuel F. "Manny" Kaiser, 92, formerly of 290 Laurel Lane, and a resident of St. Francis Home Assisted Living since April 2008, died Sunday, March 1, 2009, at St. Agnes Hospital.
He was born in Fond du Lac on Sept. 28, 1916, the son of Peter and Charlotte Stertz Kaiser.
On Oct. 26, 1940, he married Monica Stephany at St. Mary's Rectory and she preceded him in death on June 3, 1997, after 57 years of marriage.
Manny was a graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School Class of 1935.
He sold shoes at Becker's Shoe Store, and then was in charge of the tool crib at Giddings & Lewis. He worked there for more than 30 years and retired in August 1982. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph's Holy Name Society, and the G & L Oldsters Club. Manny enjoyed flowers, yard work, playing cards, traveling, casinos, country rides with his wife, and loved spending time with his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and especially enjoyed playing Santa Claus on New Year's Day.
Manny is survived by his six children, Mary (John) Stemper, Elkhart Lake, Sandy (Bill) Hoepfner, Fond du Lac, Fred (Bonnie) Kaiser, Wautoma, Susan (Wilbert) Cluppert, Fond du Lac, Chris (John) Winter, Fond du Lac, and Jerry (Ann) Kaiser, Fond du Lac; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Ann Kaiser, Fond du Lac, Sally Kaiser, Fargo, N.D., Regina Huck, Fond du Lac, Cynthia Wendt, North Fond du Lac, and Ruth Stephany, Fond du Lac; one brother-in-law, Ralph Jahn, Fond du Lac; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Monica; three brothers, Leo, Peter and Gerhardt; and two sisters, Irma and Irene.
# Visitation: Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave., and again on Saturday from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
# Services: Family prayers will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way. The Rev. James Jaeger will officiate. Entombment will follow at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials are appreciated to Holy Family Parish or to Agnesian Dialysis Unit in memory of his wife, Monica.
