Although the following obits have the name spelled as Tietzen, they are the only records that have it spelled that way, the correct spelling is Tietjen.

Humboldt Hunter Is Killed By Companion
"Accidental death came to Henry Tietzen, thirty-eight years old, in Paradise Valley yesterday morning as he was stalking a coyote with a companion, Joe Woolridge. Tietzen was crawling through the brush when Woolridge, eighty-six years old, mistook him for a coyote and shot him.
Born July 18, 1899 at Friesoythe, Oldenberg, Germany. Tietzen came to this country as a young man and was working for Fred Stewart, prominent Paradise Valley rancher, at the time of his death.
He leaves his widow Bernadine Tietzen and three small children, a sister, Mrs. Gerhard Tholen, lives in Winnemucca.
A coroner's inquest was held in Paradise Valley yesterday morning, with Coroner Irvin Case in charge, and remains were brought here to the Eddy Mortuary. Funeral services, which will probably be held here, will be announced later, Mrs. Eddy said yesterday."

Accident Victim Is Buried Today
"Winnemucca - Funeral services for Henry Tietzen of Paradise Valley, who was accidently shot by a hunting companion Sunday morning, were held here this morning a ten o'clock from St. Paul's Catholic Church, with Father James B. Empey, officiating. Burial was in the Winnemucca Cemetery and Rosary was said Monday night at the Eddy Mortuary. Tietzen thirty-eight year old ranch employee, was hunting with Joe Woolridge when he was accidently shot according to a coroner's verdict in Paradise Valley.
In addition to his widow, Mrs. Bernadine Tietzen, the deceased leaves three sons, Albert Tietzen eight, Herman Tierzen six, Henry Tietzen four. A native of Germany he was a brother of Mrs. Gerhard Tholen of Winnemucca.
Pall bearers at the funeral this morning were Fred Stewart, who was Tietzen's employer, Joe Hogart of Paradise Valley, Frank Krunkel, Burton Smith, Henry Moeller and Lee Case of Winnemucca."

High Speed Crash Takes Life Of One
"Carson - A high speed auto accident at Lake Tahoe Sunday, took the life of Henry J. Tietjen, 23, 1065 Haskell Street, employee of Sierra Pacific Power Company and father of two children."
(Note: The automobile was being driven by John Collins. Also killed in the accident was Mrs. Joan Taylor Scoggin).
