A funeral for Elling Peter Ode, a Southeast Portland resident, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Skyline Funeral Home. Interment will be in Skyline Memorial Gardens.
He died of a stroke Saturday in his home. He was 76.
Born Feb. 18, 1914, in Perkins County, S.D., Mr. Ode was raised and educated in South Dakota. After serving in the Army in World War II, he moved to Portland in 1946.
A heavy-equipment operator, Mr. Ode worked for Lord Bros. Construction Co. for a number of years. He retired in the early 1970s.
Surviving are a brother, Palmer O. of Portland; and several nieces and nephews.
