Wm Preston was born on a farm 4 1/2 miles southwest of Bennett where he grew to manhood and continued to live until his retirement from active farm duties. He was the 4th child born to Wm Morgan and Ann Gay Blair.
On 2 Jun 1890 he married 'Lena' Grafing. She had a twin sister Anna - Mrs. Herman Regennitter. With the exception of 2 years spent in Davenport, Scott, Iowa, he lived in Bennett all his life. Two children were born: Anna Littig and William Floyd.
