Inge and her husband, Harald, immigrated to the United States from Osnabruck, Germany in March of 1953. She was an accomplished violinist.

They lived in Linden, AL for two years and moved to Montgomery in 1955. Harald became a music professor at Huntingdon College and Organist Choirmaster at Memorial Presbyterian Church until 1962. They had two children, Detlev Harald and Deborah Ann Rohlig.

For several years, Inge and Harald traveled the United States giving concerts on violin and organ or piano.

In March of 1962, Harald became the Organist Choirmaster of St. John's Episcopal Church. He retired in March, 2012.
