Born on the North Sea Island of Pellworm. Parents: Paul Johann Ohrt & Margaret Ipsen. On April 11, 1887, (age 15)emigrated with his cousin Anton Petersen (age 16) aboard the "Wieland" to Castle Garden, NY. [His cousin subsequently returned to Pellworm.]
On October 2, 1894, Anton married Kathrena M. Rief (1867-1898) - Issue: Frieda (Harry Faur), Agnes (Clarence Mallory) & Paul Friedrich (Charlotte Schroeder).
Following Marie's demise, Anton was remarried on Jan. 26, 1901 to Maria Dohman (1870-1916). Issue: Harry K. (Catherine Paschel) & Raymond Gustof (Mable Benson).
Anton was a house painter until suffering 'Lead Poisoning'; after which he become a Farmer.
