Shirley Dawn Tabor (1944-2011)

POTTSBORO - Shirley Dawn Tabor, age 66, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 at Texoma Medical Center.

Mrs. Tabor was born May 23, 1944 in Lampasas, the daughter of Sparks and Celeste (Miller) Goodwin. Shirley married the love of her life, Aldon J. Tabor on Jan. 6, 1996 in Pottsboro. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and making flower arrangements. Shirley would make lists and stayed very organized. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Shirley will be greatly missed by all who know and loved her.

Mrs. Tabor is survived by her beloved family: husband, Aldon J. Tabor of Pottsboro; sons, Bradley Medart and wife, Barbara of Pottsboro, Brian Medart and wife, Tammy of Pottsboro, Roger Tabor of Sherman, Daryl Tabor and wife, Alice of Denison, and Aldon Tabor Jr. and wife, Deana of Arlington; grandchildren, Austin Brei, Samantha Atkinson, Korey Medart, Matthew Tabor, Christopher Tabor, Alana Tabor, Samuel Tabor, Rebecca Risinger, Paul Hight, Krystal Pruitt and David Coffer; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Ronnie Goodwin and wife, Karla of Lampasas; and sisters, Carolyn Hald and husband, Chris of Eugene, Ore. and Paulette Lewis and husband, Ricky of Austin. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Billy Vier officiating. Interment will follow at Preston Bend Cemetery in Pottsboro. Family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at Fisher Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Medart, Brian Medart, Roger Tabor, Daryl Tabor, Aldon Tabor and James Moon.
