Mrs Mary Hutmacher Passed Away

Mrs Mary Hutmacher, widow of Joseph Hutmacher, passed away about 6 o'clock Wednesday evening, October 20, 1937 at St Anthony Hospital at Effingham. Altho she had been in failing health for the past few years, she was always up and around. Her condition became worse on Sunday and she was taken to the Hospital Sunday evening.

Mary Helmbacher was born August 23, 1863 at Evansville, Randolph County, Illinois, as the daughter of Louis and Josepha Helmbacher. She was united in marriage to Joseph Anthony Hutmacher, who passed to the great beyond in 1887. One daughter was born to this union, who survives, namely Mrs Wm (Josepha) Weber of Teutopolis.

Surviving besides her daughter Mrs Wm Weber are two grandchildren: Carmen and Constance Weber; two Sisters: Ven Sr Helen, a nun in the Precious Blood Oder stationed in Red Bud, Ill, and Miss Dora Helmbacher of Teutopolis.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning from St Francis Church in this city, with interment in the parish Cemetery.

Hutmacher FUNERAL SERVICES

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Mary Hutmacher, who died Wednesday evening October 20th, were held Saturday morning, October 23rd. The services which began at 9 o'clock were in the form of a solemn Requiem High Mass with the Rev Simon Schwarz, OFM, guardian of St Joseph's Seminary as the celebrant; Rev Ignatius Classen, OFM., assistant pastor of St Francis Church and Rev Father Luke Dittman, OFM., of St Joseph Seminary, as subdeacon and deacon respectively.

The pallbearers were: Louis and Pete Kahtz of Teutopolis; Louis and Ed Hutmacher of Dieterich and Frank and Allie Hutmacher of Effingham. all nephews of the decedent. Flower girls were Constance and Carmen Weber, Dorothy Krone and Eugenia Henn. Interment took place in the parish Cemetery.

Mrs Hutmacher, who was 71 years, 1 month and 27 days of age at the time of her death, was a faithful member of the Third Order and of St Ann's Sodality of St Francis parish. She was a devoted mother, a kind neighbor and a sincere friend.

The following were among the out-of-town relatives and friends who attended the funeral services and burial Saturday morning. Dorothy Gulp, Mr and Mrs Louis Hutmacher, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hutmacher, Mrs Clem Ohlendorf, all of Dietrich; Mr. and Mrs. Wm LUSTIG of Wheeler; Frank Hutmacher, Mrs. Joseph Lustig, Mr Lawrance Lustig, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Buennemeyer, Mr. and Mrs Wm Weber, of Effingham; and Mrs Ignatius Helmbacher and SON William and Mr, and Mrs. Herman Berg of Shumway, and others whose names we failed to get.
