Bertha Dorothy Weber passed away Saturday evening, Jan. 1, 2011, at the Life Care Center of Greeley. She was 86.
She was born on March 11, 1924, to Frederick and Charlotte (Miller) Lesser in Platteville, Colo., the oldest of eight children. She graduated from Platteville High School in 1942. On Dec. 30, 1943, she married Orville Weber in Longmont, Colo. They raised three sons, Wallace, James and Thomas. They farmed for several years in the Longmont and Johnstown areas. She was a 20-year employee of Hewlett-Packard in Loveland.
She was a devoted 50-year member of Faith Lutheran Church in Johnstown, Colo., where she participated in numerous committees and functions. She also was a member of the Evans Senior Center and Evans Red Hat Society. Hobbies included collecting Depression glass and crocheting. Her favorite was making warming caps for newborn babies at North Colorado Medical Center and, especially, bowling. She was an avid Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville; her son, Wallace; four sisters, Florene, Jane, Shirley and June; and one brother, Elmer.
She is survived by two sons, James and wife Shirlee of Columbia, Ill., and Thomas and wife Denise of Greeley; one sister, Helen Premer of Evans; one brother, Larry Lesser of Greeley; and six grandchildren, James Weber and Jessie Weber of Washington, Keri Weber of California, Nathaniel Weber of New York, and Jay Weber and Tyler Weber of Greeley.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Faith Lutheran Church of Johnstown with Pastor Eric Anderson officiating. Viewing will be from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home in Loveland. Interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Loveland Burial Park in Loveland.
