James Marvin Bishop is not buried here at Oak Hill..this is a memorial to him as he was KIA in WW II and is buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery located in St. Avold France.
He was the eldest son of Edgar and Della Bishop, also buried here at Oak Hill.

He married Sarah Jane Engle in April 44, was drafted June 44, and was sent to the ETO in Jan.45 as a rifleman, 1st platoon, Co A of the 21st Armored Infantry Battalion, 11th Armored Division, 3rd Army. He died of wounds April 24, 1945, near Tittling, Germany. He and Sadie had one son, Marvin Anthony, b. 2-20-1945.
