Mrs. Elda H. Wheeler, 67, Amenia, a resident of this community for the last 45 years, died unexpectedly Friday at her home. Born in the town of North East May 21, 1911, she was the daughter of Nelson P. and Wilamine Ahrens Hoffbeck. Se married in Smithfield in Sept, 1934, to Howard O. Wheeler, who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, David H. Wheeler, Sr., Wassaic; three grandsons, a great grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Brewer and Mrs. Christine McGhee, both of Millerton; an aunt and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Amenia Island Cemetery.
