Carl Daniel "Dan" Lotz, 56, died at 2:50 a.m. Jan. 16, 2011, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 18, 1954, in Lima to Carl Wayne and Donna Jean McClain Lotz. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Cridersville. On Nov. 25, 1981, he married Nancy Ann Mullins, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Lotz had been a millwright and was president of Lotz Millwrights. He was a member of Vintage Carting Association and enjoyed building vintage go-carts. He raced go-carts and was owner of Lotz Motorsports.
Survivors also include three sons, Jason (Stephanie) Lotz, of Jenera, Billy (Michelle) Porter, of Lima, and Justin (Karlie) Lotz, of Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Jennie Bowman, of Wapakoneta; two brothers, Mike Lotz and Rick (Alice) Lotz, both of Wapakoneta; two sisters, Nancy (Lane) Bushong, of Lima, and Becky (Evan) Spencer, of Sylvania; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Eugene Lotz.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Pastor Jerry Kellogg will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery near Cridersville.
