Edwin Averill died the past week at his house, north of this village, in his 89th year. He was born at Alexander, Genesee Co., NY and came with his parents , Samuel Averill and wife, who had previously came from Rutland, VT. to Perrysburg where they remained a year and then took up a farm in Persia which they cleared from a dense forest. He has been a continuous resident here for the long period of 87 yrs. He married Esther Clark who survives him with several daughters and a large number of grandchildren. The burial was at Broadway cemetery by his parents and other members of the Averill family who were buried there many years ago.
