She was born February 13, 1925 in Oakdale, Illinois to the late Paul and Carrie (Voss) Brammeier.
She married Clarence "Tiny" Averbeck on July 31, 1947 and he preceded her in death on
April 23, 1996.
A member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto, she was active in the St. Ann Society at church and member of Dignity L.I.F.T. social support group. She was a assistant den mother with the cub scouts in the past and was a past member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Bethalto Fire Department for many years.
She is survived by two sons and daughter in laws, Duane and Terry Averbeck of Alton, Paul and Connie Averbeck of Godfrey; Seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Hamby of Ft. Hood, Texas, Rebecca Averbeck of Godfrey, Ashley Averbeck of Alton, Allen "A.J." Averbeck of Alton, Christy Herr of Wood River, Jenny Desmond of Hutchinson, Kansas, Michael Averbeck of Jerseyville; Seven great grandchildren, Stephen, Hannah, Evan, J.D., Michael, Madison, Mariah; Three sisters, Beulah Schaeffer of Coulterville, Illinois, Doris Jones of Coulterville, Illinois, Erna Branson of California; other extended family
and many friends.
In addition to her beloved parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children; Roger and Carolyn Averbeck; and one sister, Hazel Brammeier.
Visitation will be at Elias-Smith Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bethalto on Wednesday, July 7 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.
In celebration of her life, a funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory
Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the church or to masses.
