First wife of Leroy Landwer, married May 28, 1917.

Barrington Review (Barrington, Illinois)
Thursday, July 18, 1918

The remains of Mrs. Leroy Landwer were brought here from Platte, South Dakota, Tuesday for interment, she having passed away at her home Sunday morning, after suffering from asthma. Deceased was born at Lake Zurich, Feb. 19, 1893, and was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Berghorn, her father having passed away when she was only two and one half years of age.

On May 28, 1893, [sic -- should read May 28, 1917] she became the wife of Mr. Landwer, and soon after their marriage, accompanied by her mother, they moved to South Dakota, in hopes of benefitting her health, which proved in vain. For ten years or more, she and her mother lived in and near Barrington.

Her departure is deeply mourned by the husband and mother who so tenderly cared for her and enjoyed her filial love. The latter being a sufferer of asthma also found great comfort in her companionship and loving service. A number of other relatives and friends will greatly miss her.

Mrs. Landwer was converted during a revival meeting at Long Grove under the pastorate of Rev. Buente, and united with the Evangelical association, remaining faithful to her faith and church until called to her home.

The funeral services were held from the Zion church yesterday afternoon, in charge of the pastor, Rev. Albrecht, assisted by Rev. Hoerner of the Salem church and interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
