They made their home on a farm southwest of Steinauer, NE. In 1981 Ferdinand died and Marie stayed on the farm until 1989 when she moved to Pawnee Village. In 1998 she moved into the Pawnee Manor where she lived until her death.
Marie loved to sew, keeping herself busy with tatting, crocheting, and making many quilts. She kept a great garden and loved her flowers.
