Lydia Fritzler Faust, 95 year old Fargo resident, died Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Vici Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Gregory Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Gnadenfeld Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Lydia Pauline (Fritzler) Faust was born on September 12, 1920 in Hooker, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of Fred and Rosa (Young) Fritzler. Lydia grew up in the Hooker area and attended elementary school there. The family later moved to a farm south of Tangier. She was united in marriage to David Faust at the Faust family home on November 13, 1938. They made their home in the Tangier area and were blessed with four daughters and one son, Rosemary, Pauline, Gloria, Cynthia, and Martin. The family later moved to the Fargo area, where they raised their children.
Lydia was a long time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved cooking German dishes, sewing, and embroidering for her family. She especially enjoyed making tea towels for all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by four daughters, Rosemary Faust of Fargo; Pauline Neipp and husband Paul of Ridgecrest, California; Gloria Mohr and husband Gary of Hayward, California; Cynthia Johnson and husband Don of Allen, Texas; one son, Martin Faust and wife Jennifer of Wichita, Kansas; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Alex Fritzler and wife Evelyn of Fargo; three sisters, Freda Deal of Shattuck; Alma Thompson of Canadian, Texas; Wanda Stricker of Woodward; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an older brother Herman Fritzler, an older sister Maria Feil, and her husband David Faust.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Vici Nursing Home with the funeral home accepting the contributions on behalf of the family.
