She married Raymond Ratermann on August 5, 1941 at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Breese, IL; he preceded her in death on February 27, 1995.
Also preceded in death by a son, Andrew Ratermann; two sisters, Mary Ann Ripperda and Eleanor Renschen; a brother, Harold Kapp; a sister-in-law, Josephine Kapp; brothers-in-law, August Ratermann and Alphonse Trame.
Surviving are sons Marcellus (Milly) Ratermann of San Marcos, CA, Alfred (Virginia) Ratermann of Breese, Cletus (Deb) Ratermann of Breese, Stephen Ratermann of Breese, and Matthew (Karen) Ratermann of Aviston; Daughters Elaine (Gene) Brammeier of Nashville and Betty (Bill) Sligar of Centralia; A daughter-in-law Barb Ratermann of Germantown; 21 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren; A Brother Rich (Nettie) Kapp of Fairview Heights; Sisters Viola Trame and Evelyn Ratermann both of Breese, Irene (Arnie) Gebke of Bartelso, and Clara (Dick) Korte of Collinsville; Brothers-in-law Paul Ripperda of Belleville and Cornelius Renschen of Breese.
Leona was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and Altar Sodality, Clinton County Farm Bureau.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 11 AM at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.
