JOHANN GEORG "GEORGE" BUSCH, SR. 1886-1966
GEORGE BUSCH, 80, DIES IN HOSPITAL---George Busch, Sr., 80, who had been in poor health the last three months, died Friday [May 6, 1966] at Weld County General Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Zion United Church of Christ, with interment in Lakeview Cemetery.
Born March 18, 1886 in Dittle [Dietel], Russia, Busch came to the United States [arriving December 9, 1912]. He lived in Windsor since that time except for three years when he lived in Michigan.
Before retiring he farmed and worked for the Great Western Sugar Co,
He was a charter member of the Zion United Church of Christ and the Zion Brotherhood.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Busch; three sons, George Busch Jr. of Greeley, John Busch of Windsor, and Paul Busch of Eaton; three daughters, Mrs. Amelia Smith of Holdrege, Neb., Mrs. Irvin (Lydia) Thompson, Arcadia, Calif; and Mrs. Claude (Eva) Horseman of Eaton. Also survivors are four stepsons and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mary Engleman, and Henry, Jake, Alex and Fred Rein Jr., all of Denver; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 14 step -great-grandchildren; and several neices and nephews. One daughter preceded him in death.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Zion United Church of Christ in Windsor, with internment in Lakeview Cemetery, Macy Allnutt Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. (City of Greeley Museums, Greeley, CO, May 7, 1966, pg 7)
