LISBON -- Beryl E. Smith, 80 of 517 W. Washington St, died Sunday at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tenn., following a brief illness.
Born Dec 14, 1919, in Madison Township, she was the daughter of John A. & Ona Mae (Spencer) Cusick.
Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident and employed as an assembler for 16 years at the Clark Pulley Company in Salem, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Lisbon Beaver Street Church of Christ, Lisbon Eagles Aerie 2216 Ladies Auxiliary, Lisbon Senior Citizens and West POint Grange. She also was a life member of the Wilfred Clunk Veterans of Foreign War Post 4111 Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death on May 22, 1988 by her husband John L. Smith, whom she married on Nov 14, 1982.
Survivors include a step daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Donna Lee) Wilson of Canton; two sons, Ralph L. Conkle of Hohenwald, Tenn, and C. Thomas Conkle of Blountville, Tenn; a sister Lura Carnes of Lisbon; a brother; Ralph S. Cusick of Lisbon; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mildred Scroggs, Alice Rosendahl, Camilla Baker and Corinne Rufener; and a brother J. Clifton Cusick.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Eells-Leggett Funeral Home with Tom Derby officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral home.
