Chris Gesick, 81, of 201 1/2 10th St. died Monday night at Weld County Public Hospital. He had been seriously ill since Jan. 27. Mr. Gesick, who had resided in the Greeley community since 1901, was born Oct. 23, 1870 in Walter, Russia. He came here from Russia and farmed until his retirement.
Mr. Gesick was a member of St. Paul's Congregational church.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Anna Gesick; two sons, Chris C. and George Gesick, both of Greeley; two daughters, Mrs. Katie Manweiler of Greeley and Mrs. Hannah Kummer of Briggsdale; 12 step-children; 23 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, George of Fort Morgan, Conrad and Jacob Gesick of Greeley; and a sister, Mrs. Katherine Roth of Greeley.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon from St. Paul's Congregational church, with interment at Linn Grove. Macys is in charge of arrangements.
