Adam Leyendecker, Former Commissioner, Was Buried Friday
Adam J. Leyendecker died at the family home last Thursday, April 20, at 20 minutes to 12 a.m. after a serious illness of about a month, and was buried Friday afternoon in the family {Zimmerscheidt) cemetery, Rev. R. S. Garrard, pastor of the Columbus Baptist Church, officiating.

Mr. Leyendecker was, for many years, commissioner from his precinct and made the county a popular and efficient officer. He served the voters of his precinct first as Justice of Peace. He was then elected commissioner three terms and later, served two terms and still later two more, making his entire time in office about twenty years.

Mr. Leyendecker, by reason of his many years of public service, had a wide acquaintance over the county and his funeral was well attended.

Adam J. Leyendecker and Miss Alma Hunding were married on September 21, 1893 and nine children were born to this union, six of whom are now living. They are: Herbert, Wilton, Jack Edgar, Zerlina, Clifford and Elvira. He also leaves one brother, Charles Leyendecker and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Frels.

He was 64 years, 5 months and 22 {days} old at the time of his death, he having been born at Zimmerscheidt, near Frelsburg, October 28, 1857.

Pallbearers were: E. B. Mayes, G. R. McNiel, H. Braden, Peter Schuette, Herman Ramthum and B. H. Meinert.

The Citizen joins a wide circle of friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
