Ralph W. Timmermann, 71, of Breese, died Monday, December 22, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.

Mr. Timmermann was born January 6, 1937 in Breese to Charles and Bertha (Niemann) Timmermann; they preceded him in death.

Also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Ann Kuhl and Rita Taylor; father-in-law, Ralph Prediger; a sister-in-law, Ruby Timmermann; and a brother-in-law, Bill Kuhl.

He married Madelyn Prediger on June 7, 1958 at Sacred Heart Church in Granite City and she survives in Breese.

Also surviving are his children, Steve Timmermann of Breese, Brian (Nina) Timmermann of White Lake, MI, Patrick (Linda) Timmermann of Breese, Tim (Nancy) Timmermann of Monticello, IL, and Cindy Deiters of Springfield; 8 Grandchildren-Justin, Tia, Samantha, Colton, Ty, Cole, Drew Timmermann, and Blake Deiters; Brothers, Tom Timmermann of Pinckney, MI, Charles (Debbie) Timmermann of Waxahachie, TX, Richard (Susie) Timmermann of Pittsboro, IN, and Donald (Sandy Deien) Timmermann of Breese; his mother-in-law, Ethel Prediger of Maryville; a sister-in-law, Chris (Ken) Vansickle of Great Falls, Montana; brothers-in-law, Jim Taylor of Breese and James (Kathy) Prediger of Glen Carbon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ralph retired from the Clinton County Highway Department after 38 years. He was an avid golfer and traveler.

He was a member of St. Dominic Church, Parish Council and Usher, Past Grand Knight of the Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869, Charter Member of Bent Oak Golf Course, Concordia Saengerchor, and St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary.

He was a former member former board member of the Clinton County Rehabilitation Center and of the St. Dominic and Mater Dei School Board, and was a crossing guard for All Saints Academy for 13 years.

A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.
