William graduated from Bear Creek High School, and attended St. Norbert College. He was a supervisor with Rockwell Int. and retired in 1991, after 30 plus years with the company. Bill was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed camping, cottage life, and golfing. Bill and Rosemary spent much time attending children's, grandchildren's and great grandchildren's sporting activities.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary, Oshkosh; seven children, Ellen (Charles) Hietpas, Little Chute; Dennis Lowney, Mackville; David Lowney, Appleton; Sharon (Mark) Weitz, Oshkosh; Peter (Lynnell) Lowney, Waunakee; Tony (Deb) Lowney, Oshkosh; and Tricia (Matt) Martell, Oshkosh; one sister, Sr. Mary Ellen "Frances" Lowney, of St Francis Covenant in Bay Settlement; 25 grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Elrick, Sara (Dr. Carl) Peluso, Patrick Hietpas, Erin Hietpas, Tina (Dana) Gross, Kelly (Todd) Vandenberg, Jeff (Stacy) Lowney, Carrie Lowney, Joseph (Kelly) Lowney, Jamie (Clint) Kriewaldt, William Lowney, Chris (Tim) Wetzel, Tammy Lowney, Amanda Lowney, Melissa Lowney, Peter Lowney Jr., Philip Lowney, Ryan Lowney, Morgan Lowney, Hannah Lowney, Hope Lowney, Nolan Martell, Avery Martell, Roman Martell, Garth Martell; 14 great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Sue Lowney, Freedom; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Lowney, Manawa; two brothers-in-law Russell (Barb) Young, Winneconne; and Gary (Jackie) Young, Scottsdale, AZ. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lowney, and a brother, Leonard Lowney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1025 W. Sixth Ave. Oshkosh) on Monday Sept. 12, 2005 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Thomas Reynebeau officiating. Family and friends may call at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00PM, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM; and on Monday at the church from 9:30 AM to the time of Mass. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Bear Creek. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
